Week 6

Hi Juniors...

Here are your questions for the week...

1. Your friend shows you how to get a free drink by kicking the machine in a certain way. Do you do it?
2. You are a parent. You tell your eight year old that if he is late again, he goes straight to his room for the night. He is ten minutes late. Do you send him to his room? Why?
3. You find a good watch in the school yard. Do you turn it in to the lost and found? Why?

  1. 1. Yes free is free they should have nice machines so that does not happen. 2. yes because i want him to abide by the rules and learn to stick to the rules. 3. yes because i want someone to do the same for me if i lost my watch.

  2. 1. If my friend shows me how to get a free drink my kicking the machine a certain way, and I am thirsty and broke, I would do it. But I wouldnt do it all the time because I aint trying to get caught, and it might be noticeable if there are missing drinks and no money, thats not fair.
2 When I become a parent and I have an eight year old who is late for...(curfew?), he would receive the consequences. Unless there is a certain reason why he is late that can be excusable.
    3. The minute my hands reach a missing item (a nice watch) that item will go into a lost and found asap. I would turn it in because I would expect someone to turn in my missing item!

  3. 1. If my friend had shown me this I would not do it because I do not think its right and I don't want to get caught in the act and it is just something I wouldn't do.
    2. I would send him to his room because I told him not to be late again and if he was he would be put in his room. If I don't set down the laws for my child he could keep taking advantage of me and probably won't think I am serious, so I would do it to show the child that I mean what I say and if you do not listen there will be consequences.
    3. I would return it to the lost and found because I don't want someone to say I stole it and it wouldn't he right to take it. In my opinion I feel it would be the right thing for me to bring to the lost and found so if the owner realized they lost it they can find it again. Also I don't know the value or importance it was to someone, so if I took it and it was something important I would feel bad.

  4. 1. if my friend showed me how to get a free drink, i would do it all the time because i would want it and i wouldn't have money so i would quench my thirst free of charge instead of paying for some crazy overpriced drink. the drink companies make billions anyway and im sure they will still make billions if i continue to execute my method.
    2. i would punish him if he was 1 minute late, never mind 10. he would have to behave and abide by my rules if i let him go out. kids have to learn to listen to their parents and respect their elders, especially at that age.
    3. if i found a nice watch at the school yard i would take it. if no one claimed that they were missing a nice watch then i would keep it. if i heard that someone was missing a watch, i would do a little investigation to see if they were really missing a watch and then i would return the watch to its rightful owner

  5. 1. i would not take any of the soda because if the machine is broke you are taking money from people and if i was thirsty i would go get a drink from a bubblier.
2.i would tell him that he needs to make sure he is home at the right time i would remind him of the time then let him go up stairs.
3.i would bring it to the lost and found because someone may pay allot for the watch and i do not want to take away from someone else hard work.

  6. 1. If my friend showed me how to get to a free drink, i would tell them to do it, then give it to me. Knowing my luck i would get caught in the action.
2.Yes, you have to be consistent or these kids will walk all over you. Also because he is young, i want him to develop a sense of responsibility.
3.I would return the watch to lost and found no matter if its expensive or not. At the end of the day its not mine. I would be upset if someone took something that was mine, so i would not wanna put that upon anyone.

  7. 1. I would kick the machine for the drink, no one's going to get hurt over me getting a free drink. 2. Yes because ten minutes is actually a long time because he has enough time to come home and if hes late he should have a good excuse. 3. I would return the watch to the owner if i found one because it wouldn't feel good to take a watch from someone who would probably give you something you lost that they found.

  9. 1. Yes. But if it involves shaking it then no...not trying to die today.
    2. Yes. Because he needs to learn respect and most likely I would need quiet time.
    3. No. Because then someone else who it doesn't belong to would claim it so I minus well keep it.
